Terms of Use
Last updated
The agreement between you and Finexa. It is short because Finexa is a tool for recording your own money: it takes no payment, moves no money and gives no advice, so most of what these documents usually contain does not apply.
What Finexa is
A personal finance record. You enter or import your accounts, transactions and budgets, and Finexa organises, totals and charts them. It can be shared with the people you share your finances with.
What Finexa is not
It is not a bank, not a payment service and not a financial adviser. It holds no money, moves no money and is not regulated as a financial institution. Nothing it shows you is investment, tax or legal advice, and no figure in it should be treated as a statement from your bank — your bank's own records are the authority on your balance.Your account
- You need to be old enough to enter a contract where you live.
- The details you sign up with should be accurate — an email address you can actually receive mail at, because it is the only way to recover a password.
- Keeping your password and your two-factor codes to yourself is your responsibility. Turning on two-factor authentication is strongly recommended and takes a minute.
- One person, one account. Sharing a login rather than inviting somebody to your household defeats every per-account privacy control Finexa has.
Your data is yours
Everything you put into Finexa belongs to you. We claim no ownership of it, do not sell it, and do not use it to train anything. You can export all of it as CSV or PDF whenever you like, and you can delete all of it — see Deleting your account. What is stored and who processes it is set out in the Privacy Policy.
Sharing a household
Inviting somebody into your household gives them access to every account you have marked as shared, and to the transactions on those accounts. Sharing is per account and off by default, but it is not reversible in retrospect: a person who could see an account may have already read, exported or remembered what was on it. Invite accordingly.
Acceptable use
Do not use Finexa to break the law, to store somebody else's financial records without their knowledge, or to attack the service — probing it, overloading it, or trying to reach data that is not yours. Automated access is fine for your own data at a reasonable rate; the API is rate limited and hammering it will get an account suspended.
Availability
Finexa is provided as it is, with no promise of uninterrupted service. It may be unavailable during maintenance or because something broke. Features may change, and a feature may be removed if keeping it would make the product worse — you will be told inside the app before that happens to anything you are using.
Back up what matters
Export is one click in Reports and produces a file you hold. No service is immune to data loss, and a product that told you otherwise would be lying to you.Liability
To the extent the law allows, Finexa is not liable for financial decisions you make using it, for figures that turn out to be wrong because of what was entered or imported, or for indirect losses. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited by law — and if you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by any of this.
Ending it
You can leave at any moment by deleting your account, and nothing has to be cancelled first because nothing is being charged. We may suspend or close an account that is being used to attack the service or to break the law; where it is not an emergency, you will be told why and given a chance to export your data first.
Changes to these terms
The date at the top is the last time this page changed. A material change will be announced in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Finexa after that is how the new version is accepted; if you would rather not, deleting your account is always available.
